A crown is the right fix when a tooth cannot hold a filling or has cracked. Dr. Pierpont walks you through the reasons, using X-rays you can see.
If you are coming from Clearwater Beach, we will keep the number of visits as small as good dentistry permits.
Why a crown, not a filling

A filling replaces a small area of tooth. A crown wraps the whole visible tooth, which is stronger when a lot is missing.
The result also protects against further cracks.

Onlays for smaller damage

When a cusp or the biting surface is damaged, an onlay may be enough. It keeps more of your own tooth.
Ask whether your tooth could take one.

Root canal, then crown

After a root canal, the tooth needs reinforcement. A crown is usually the final step.
We plan the sequence together so it is not a surprise.

About Clearwater Beach
Clearwater Beach’s marina sits on the Intracoastal Waterway side of the island, and boats there depend on solid, well-fitted parts. The same applies to restorations.
Pier Dental is 16.4 miles from the beach in a straight line.
