A crown covers and strengthens a tooth that has lost too much of its own structure. Dr. Brittany Pierpont places crowns at Pier Dental for patients from the Bayway area with cracked, worn or heavily restored teeth.
We offer porcelain, ceramic and metal crowns, chosen to suit the tooth and the force it handles.
Step by step

After numbing, the tooth is reshaped and scanned digitally with the TRIOS system, which replaces goopy impression material. A temporary crown goes on for a short while.
The permanent crown is bonded at the next visit.

Crowns and root canals together

A tooth treated with a root canal is often brittle, so a crown typically follows to hold it together. We explain this in advance.
That way the whole plan is clear from the first visit.

When an onlay will do

Onlays and inlays handle moderate damage without taking as much of the tooth as a full crown does. They are made of porcelain or composite.
We try the conservative choice before the bigger one.

About Bayway
Bayway Isles sits next to Eckerd College, Fort DeSoto Park and St. Pete Beach which makes our St. Pete Beach office a natural neighbor. Two crown visits are manageable when the office is that close.
We are at 8351 Blind Pass Rd, about 4.3 miles from Bayway Isles in a straight line.
