A veneer is a thin shell of porcelain or composite resin, bonded to the visible side of a tooth. Patients seek them out for stains that will not lift, small chips and teeth that look uneven.
Dr. Brittany Pierpont does not rush into them. Cedar Hammock is about 22.1 miles from our office by straight line, so we also map out the trips before work begins.
What the process looks like

After a planning visit, the teeth are lightly shaped and impressions are taken. Custom veneers are made to your color.
They are then bonded to the teeth in a final appointment.

Bonding for one chipped tooth

Single-tooth problems often have a simpler fix. Composite can rebuild a corner in one visit.
It involves little removal of tooth.

Lightening natural teeth first

If you want a brighter smile overall, whiten first. Veneers can then be matched to the new shade.
That sequence gives the best blend.

About Cedar Hammock
Before it was a residential area, Cedar Hammock was a wooded hammock turned vegetable country. Growers there raised onions, cabbage and potatoes.
