A dental emergency does not care how far you live from the office. If you are in Palmetto and a tooth breaks, swells or throbs, call Pier Dental at (727) 363-6169 before you start driving.
We offer same-day emergency appointments when we can, and a call lets us tell you what to do on the way. Our office is in St. Pete Beach, roughly 19 miles off in a straight line, so please plan for a longer drive.
Knocked-out or loose tooth

Hold the tooth by the crown, never the root. Place it in milk or a tooth-preserving solution and call us right away.
Time matters a great deal with a displaced tooth. If someone else can drive, have them take the wheel while you keep it moist.

Pain that has taken over

A toothache that wakes you at night may mean infection or a deep cavity. Swelling or fever raises the urgency.
Treatment depends on what we find. It might be a filling, a root canal or an extraction, and we explain each before we start.

A crack you can feel

If a tooth split on something hard, avoid chewing on that side. Rinse gently with warm water.
Cracks can run below the gumline. We look at how deep the damage goes before recommending a crown or root canal.

About Palmetto
Palmetto lies on the Manatee River, across from the city of Bradenton. A railroad arrived in 1902 and moved the center of town away from the waterfront.
From there to our office is about 19 miles straight-line, and the real drive is longer. That is why we ask you to phone first. Regular hours are Monday through Thursday, with Friday by appointment.
Call (727) 363-6169 now and describe what happened. We will work out the soonest visit and the safest next step.
