Our office is a long way from Rocky Creek for an emergency: about 21 miles straight-line and more by road. Please call (727) 363-6169 first. We will tell you whether a same-day visit makes sense and how to manage things until then.
If you have trouble breathing, swelling that spreads toward the eye or throat, or a serious injury to the head, go to an emergency room. Some problems cannot wait for a dental office.
Severe toothache

Throbbing pain, heat sensitivity or a bad taste can point to infection. Dr. Pierpont can treat the source, which may be a root canal.
Until you arrive, keep your head raised and avoid very hot or cold foods.

Broken tooth or lost filling

Rinse, save any fragment and cover sharp edges with sugar-free gum or dental wax if you have some. Do not try to glue anything back.
A crown or filling can often restore the tooth, and we will say which one.

Mouth injuries and knocked-out teeth

Rinse the tooth gently without scrubbing it. If you can, place it back in the socket; otherwise keep it in milk and head our way.
Speed counts, so the phone call comes first and the drive second.
