Veneers are thin shells, made of porcelain or composite resin, that are bonded to the front of your teeth. Dr. Brittany Pierpont uses them to cover stains, chips, worn edges and small gaps at Pier Dental, a short trip from Sunset Beach.
Because a little enamel is removed, veneers are not something we rush. The first visit is a conversation about your goals and about whether a lighter option would do.
How the veneer process works

After the consult, a small amount of enamel is removed and impressions are taken so the veneers can be made to fit. When they are ready, they are bonded to your teeth and checked for color and bite.
Dr. Pierpont will explain exactly which steps apply to you and how many visits to plan for.

Bonding as a lighter option

If only one or two teeth bother you, composite bonding may do the job. It uses tooth-colored resin shaped by hand, usually in one visit, and takes away little or no tooth.
Bonding can stain over time and is often a more affordable choice than veneers, so we compare both honestly.

Whitening before you decide

If your main complaint is color, brighter teeth may be enough. Our take-home trays, LED kit and strips are available, and results show up gradually.
Some patients whiten first, then match veneers to the new shade.

About Sunset Beach
Sunset Beach lies within Treasure Island, a city built on a barrier island whose beaches face the Gulf of Mexico. The island’s land is limited to about 1.6 square miles, so most of life here happens close together.
That makes a nearby office handy for the several visits veneers take. Pier Dental, family-owned, at 8351 Blind Pass Rd, plans veneers for patients from Sunset Beach, Treasure Island and Madeira Beach.
Ready for a consult? Call (727) 363-6169 and ask for a veneer visit with Dr. Pierpont. Members of our in-house plan get 10 percent off veneers, and CareCredit is available too.
