A better-looking smile does not have to mean a dramatic one. At Pier Dental, Dr. Brittany Pierpont favors changes people barely notice, except that you look rested and your teeth look like yours. Mecca patients make a trip of about 19 miles as the crow flies, so we keep plans efficient.
We begin with a conversation about what bothers you, whether that is a stain, a chip, a gap or a tired old filling. Then we show what is possible and what is not worth doing. Free second opinions are always welcome.
Bonding for small flaws

Bonding sets tooth-colored resin on the tooth, shapes it and hardens it with a light. It can close a gap, cover a stain or smooth a chip, usually in one appointment and often with little or no drilling.
Resin can pick up stain over the years, so we will tell you how to look after it. It is a sensible first step before anything bigger.

Whitening you do at home

Our whitening is take-home: custom trays with professional gel, an LED kit or strips. You work on your own schedule, which suits anyone who lives far from the office.
We check your teeth and gums before you begin, because whitening only works well on healthy teeth. Sensitivity is usually manageable with a slower pace.

Veneers when the change is bigger

Veneers are thin custom shells bonded over the front of a tooth. They suit teeth that are discolored, worn or uneven in ways whitening and bonding cannot fix.
Because the tooth is reshaped, the choice is permanent. We would rather go step by step and make sure it is right for you.
