When a tooth suddenly breaks or throbs, you want a person on the phone, not a recording. Call Pier Dental at (727) 363-6169 and we will work to see you the same day.
Dr. Brittany Pierpont first looks for the cause, then relieves pain and explains your choices. There is no judgment here about how the problem got started.
A toothache that will not quit

Constant or throbbing pain often signals deep decay or infection inside the tooth. A quick exam and X-rays tell us whether you need a filling, a root canal or something else.
Do not delay if you have swelling, fever or pain when swallowing. Those signs need prompt attention.

Root canal care to save a tooth

Root canal therapy removes infected tissue from inside the tooth, cleans the canals and seals them. It is meant to stop the pain and keep the tooth in place.
Afterward a crown is usually advised to protect the tooth from breaking.

Sports, falls and other injuries

A cracked or loosened tooth needs a look even if it hurts only a little. Rinse gently, use a cold compress for swelling and bring any broken pieces with you.
If a tooth is fully out, keep it moist in milk and call us immediately.
