If a tooth breaks or pain takes over your day, phone Pier Dental at (727) 363-6169 before you leave Curlew. We are about 21 miles away in a straight line and further by road, and a call lets us prepare for your arrival.
Same-day emergency appointments are part of how we work. For a hard blow to the head, uncontrolled bleeding or trouble breathing, go to a hospital first.
Pain, swelling and infection

A swollen gum or cheek with a throbbing tooth may be an abscess. It needs prompt attention, as infections do not heal on their own.
Do not apply heat. A cold pack on the outside of the cheek is safer.

A tooth that split or lost a piece

Keep any fragment in a clean container and rinse your mouth. Avoid chewing on that side.
Dr. Pierpont checks the crack and recommends bonding, a crown or a root canal.

Falls and knocks

Teeth can be bumped loose or knocked out in a fall. Hold a lost tooth by the crown, and store it in milk.
Call right away, since the first hour makes a real difference.

About Curlew
Curlew Road is a five-mile state highway that runs from Dunedin to Oldsmar and it continues west as Causeway Boulevard toward Honeymoon Island State Park. A trip south from there is a real drive.
Traffic can slow any trip, so a quick call helps both of us. We also care for emergency patients from Treasure Island and Madeira Beach.
Call (727) 363-6169 for same-day emergency care. We will go over CareCredit and our in-house plan after you are comfortable.
