Palma Ceia is in South Tampa, and Pier Dental is in St. Pete Beach, about 20 miles away in a straight line. The drive is longer than that figure suggests, so we try to make every visit count. Dr. Brittany Pierpont is a general dentist, and we are a family-owned office.
If it has been a while since you sat in a dental chair, you are welcome here. Nobody will scold you about the gap. We look, explain in plain words, and let you decide the pace.
Start with an exam and pictures

A first appointment is built around a comprehensive exam. Dr. Pierpont checks teeth, gums, bite and jaw joints, and screens for oral cancer. Digital X-rays show what the eye cannot, and we go over them with you on the screen.
You leave with a clear list: what is fine, what needs care soon, and what can wait. That list helps when you are planning around a Tampa work week.

Cleanings between the big projects

A cleaning lifts away plaque and tartar that a toothbrush leaves behind, and polishing takes off surface stains. Most people do well with a visit about twice a year, though gum trouble can call for a different rhythm.
If your gums bleed or feel tender, say so. Dr. Pierpont can treat early gum disease, and she will show you what to change at home.

Fillings that look like your tooth

A small cavity is repaired with a white filling made of composite resin, matched to your tooth shade. It bonds in place, so we can keep more of the natural tooth than old metal fillings did.
We numb the area, remove the decay, build the filling in layers and polish it. If a tooth needs more, such as an onlay or a crown, we will say so before you commit.
