A crown fits over a tooth like a cap, restoring strength and shape. Dr. Brittany Pierpont places them for Tierra Verde patients whose teeth are fractured, worn thin or filled beyond what a filling can hold.
Materials include porcelain, ceramic and metal. We pick based on the tooth, your bite and how visible it is.
Two visits, start to finish

The first visit covers numbing, shaping and a digital impression from our TRIOS scanner. A temporary crown holds the place while the permanent one is crafted.
On the second visit it is bonded and checked against your bite.

When a root canal comes first

Deep decay or infection in the nerve may call for a root canal. The crown that follows seals and protects the tooth.
Dr. Pierpont talks you through the order of treatment ahead of time.

A smaller repair when it works

Inlays and onlays repair damage inside or on top of a tooth with porcelain or composite. They keep more of your natural structure than a crown.
If the tooth allows it, this is the route we try.

About Tierra Verde
Tierra Verde covers 4.9 square miles, but only 1.2 of that is land citing the U.S. Census Bureau. With that much water around, planning your appointments around bridge travel makes sense.
Our office is roughly 4.4 miles from the community’s center in a straight line, and crowns usually need two visits.
If a tooth feels fragile, call (727) 363-6169 before it breaks. Tell us if it hurts and we will look into a same-day emergency slot.
