Veneers are slim shells of porcelain or composite that are bonded over the front of your teeth. At Pier Dental in Saint Pete Beach, Dr. Brittany Pierpont plans them so the finished smile looks like a better version of yours, not a new set of teeth.
People usually come in because of stains that whitening will not lift, worn or chipped edges, or gaps they have disliked for years. We start by listening to what you want to change.
The path from consult to final fit

After your goals are clear, Dr. Pierpont reshapes a thin layer of enamel so each veneer sits flat against the tooth. Impressions are taken, and the veneers are made to match your color and shape.
At the last visit each veneer is checked, bonded and polished. You will know what to expect before any tooth is touched.

Is bonding enough for you?

A single chip or a narrow gap does not always call for a veneer. Composite bonding can be shaped on the tooth in one sitting, and it asks for little or no removal of enamel.
The tradeoff is that resin can stain and may need touch-ups. Dr. Pierpont will lay out the tradeoffs so you choose with clear eyes.

Veneer or crown?

A veneer covers the front of a healthy tooth, while a crown wraps around the whole tooth. If a tooth is cracked, heavily filled or has had a root canal, a crown may be the sturdier answer.
We look at each tooth on its own merits. Sometimes a mix of veneers and crowns gives the most even result across your smile.
